Multiplayer Horror Maze-Escape Game

In Burning Out, a multiplayer horror maze-escape game, you and 3 others are trapped in a monstrous dark maze, armed only with fire. Light your way with your torch to unveil the maze’s secrets, all while trying to keep contact with prox chat, but be warned… you may not be alone. Your time is ticking: once your fire burns out, soon will you too.      


Mechanics

Movement is simple, with WASD, Space jump, and Shift sprint. However, it’s essential to move carefully. The faster you move, the louder you are, but the slower you move, the more fire you waste. Not to mention the risk of encounters. You have 2 hands for inventory slots. Picked up items are managed by swapping hand dominance.  WASD movement, Shift sprint, Space jump


Items

Every item has a unique use case. The torch (given) is essential to seeing in the darkness, but they burn out. Flames eat away at the wood, and the torch may blow out if handled poorly. The only constant source of fire is the central hearth, but it too, may burn out.


Multiplayer

You’re not alone here… because you have 3 friends! Areas will require you to work together to access; others, only one of you may enter. Stay together to share a flame, or disperse to cover the halls. Just don’t get lost alone. Use proximity chat to make yourselves known. Or don’t.


The Maze

The maze is huge. Structured as what seems to be a colosseum of disorientation. Massive walls, scaling ladders, drop zones. Loops, dead ends, crossed paths. Repeating patterns, long hallways, dead spaces, strange structures. Not just do corners obstruct your vision, but the dense fog reeks. Why are you here?
